~A LITTLE PIECE OF
CUCAMONGA VALLEY HISTORY~
Maria Conello, age 21, presents a bottle of wine from the Cucamonga Valley Wine Company to an Ontario police officer in 1933. The wine was headed to President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the day the Twenty-first Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, marking the end of prohibition. Maria called the Grapevine Press at age 89 to reminisce about the way it was. She passed away in Claremont on August 3, 2008, at the age of 96.
